P. D. Rwelamila is a Professor of Project Management and Procurement Systems at the University of South Africa Graduate School of Business Leadership (GSBL), Joint coordinator: CIB – W107: Construction in developing countries; past President: South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP), non-executive director International Institute of Business Management (IIBM), past Chairperson & non-executive director of MSINGI Construction Project Management (Pty) Ltd, past Vice President (Education): the CIOB – Africa, former Senior Partner of Quantum Consultants (Pty) Ltd, Gaborone, Botswana and Principal Cost Engineer, Tanzania Railways Corporation.
He is a registered professional project manager with SACPCMP (South Africa). He is a Fellow CIOB (UK), Corporate professional member of MAACE (USA), MAIC (USA) and MIPPM (USA). He has worked in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Botswana, Zambia, Australia, UAE, United Kingdom and Sweden. He holds and a PhD from University of Cape Town/Liverpool (SA/UK), Executive Cert. in PPP from IP3 (USA), Masters’ Degree in CPM, Brunel University (UK) and read Construction Economics and Management at ARI (Tanzania). In 2005, at Arizona State University (USA), he was named as the world second most cited researcher in projects procurement systems. He has more than 200 published and peer-reviewed journal papers, chapters in books and conference proceedings.
